Friends of Myakka River Super Friends
This group is the recipient of the 2023 Volunteer Award for a Citizen Support Organization in Natural Resources.
Following Hurricane Ian, a subset called the “Super Friends” formed within the Friends of Myakka River. This subset proved critical to having the capacity to take on more opportunities on behalf of the park. In 2023, Super Friends participated in five service projects at the park, contributing a total of 144 volunteer hours.
