Join us for Nature Explored & Defined (NED) Walks, our special guided interpretive walk through the Royal Palm Hammock Nature Trail, held the second and fourth Saturday of the month, December through March, 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Discover the unique plant life that flourishes in this subtropical-like environment. Learn the difference between a royal palm and a sabal palm. Look for animal tracks, along with evidence of hammock damage from hurricanes and their amazing recovery.
Connect with nature on this 0.9-mile, mostly board-walked loop trail. You may see otter, bobcat, birds, butterflies and tree snails.
Don't forget to bring bug spray, plenty of drinking water, sunglasses and a hat.
Program is free with paid park entry: $5 per vehicle up to eight people or $4 for single-person entry.
