Manager's Message

Fall is here! The days are shorter, and the weather a bit cooler. Now is the perfect time to enjoy the natural beauty and serenity of the Emerald Coast. The fall season brings crisp weather, and gorgeous days. Why not treat family and friends to a relaxing day at the park? Whether you like to fish, hike or swim, Henderson Beach State Park has something for everyone. Take a peaceful walk on our sugar white sand, or just explore the nature trail through the dune system. Or simply bring a chair, umbrella, and a good book and enjoy a peaceful day at the beach.

Camping at Henderson Beach is second to none. Please make your reservations early online at www.ReserveAmerica.com or by phone 1-800-326-3521. The campground stays busy in the spring and summer, so the earliest you plan your trip the better.

Interested in having an event (wedding, group picnic, etc.) at Henderson Beach? The pavilions are available to rent. Daytime rentals are not available during the busy season between May 30th to Sept. 1st. For specifics please call Carolyn at (850)269-1062 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for more details. Or simply call and leave a message.

The park’s day use area is open from 8 a.m. to sunset daily.

- Daniel Laird, Park Manager

Welcome to Henderson Beach State Park

Pristine white sugar sand beaches and more than 6,000 feet of natural scenic shoreline border the emerald green waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Natural features of the park include sand pines, scrub oaks, and dune rosemary. Boardwalks provide access to the beach for swimming, sunbathing, and fishing. Two large pavilions allow for picnicking and grilling. A playground is the first stop on our nature trail and is sure to be a success with the kids. The nature trail provides visitors a rare glimpse of the coastal dune ecosystem and abundant wildlife and is pet friendly. Camping at Henderson Beach State Park provides 60 campsites that are located in our secondary dune system. The sites include water and electric hookups and access to air conditioned and heated bathhouse facilities. A separate beach access boardwalk with outdoor showers and a playground are included in our campground. Henderson Beach is A.D.A accessible and includes beach wheel chair availability. Visitors can enjoy truly breathtaking sunsets while relaxing by the warm crystal clear water of the Gulf of Mexico. The park is located just east of Destin on U.S. 98.
