Special Events for Fort Cooper State Park

• NIGHTS OF LIGHTS
  Date: December 11th through 17th, 2009. From 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  Description:
  December 11th and 12th
  View the park with it’s luminary lined driveway, lights, and decorations. Enjoy live entertainment, refreshments, make a smore’ or visit Santa and Mrs. Claus.
  
  December 13th thru December 17th
  View the park with lights and decorations only.
  
  Fees: Donation of non-perishable food or new toy for Citrus United Basket.

• FORT COOPER DAYS
  Date: Saturday and Sunday, March 20th and 21st, 2010. 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
  Description: Come and see Second Seminole War reenactments and visit 1836 period military and Seminole encampments. There will be modern and period arts and crafts, entertainment and great food and refreshment. Re-enactments will be held twice daily at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Fort Cooper State Park Ranger Programs

• NATURE WALKS
  Ongoing Ranger quided nature walks are available by request.

• WALK ON THE WILD SIDE
  Wednesdays and Fridays. Not available June through September. Tired of making laps around your neighborhood or just looking for a nice place to take a walk and maybe get a little exercise. Then come join a Ranger for a moderate paced walk along the scenic nature trails in the park. The walks will be held on Wednesdays and Fridays starting at 9:30 AM (weather permitting). Regular park entrance fee and pre-registration for the walk is required. You'll have a nice place to walk with scenic views, chance to meet new people and support your state park. It is recommended that participants wear comfortable clothing and shoes and bring insect repellant and water.
