Forest Capital Museum State Park Photos

Tall pines and oak trees shade the pavilion and its six large picnic tables, all encircled with beds of pine straw and green grass. The back porch runs the length of the cracker house, each room has a fireplace and the kitchen is set apart. Trees tower beyond the sandy fenced yard. The sun glares past clouds on the homestead, bleaching the fenced yard dirt, casting shadows of shade down trees, under the porch out the breezeway.

The cane syrup cooking shed with its brick fireplace is in the field; beyond is a cane grinder, left a smokehouse, in the distance a barn then trees. Pines shade the grass to the fence of the homestead where the sun beams on the side of the house and beyond the shaded porch and breezeway.
