Manager's Message
Dudley Farm Historic State Park has received some much needed minor repairs to historic structures this last winter by park staff and contractors. Most are hard to spot, but were neccessary for the "health" of the farm. One addition that is noticeable is the addition of the 1880s Kitchen Porch based on photos from that timeperiod.
Families and other groups interested in guided tours are welcome to experience a true 19th century Florida farm in the mornings from Wednesday through Sunday to see a piece of Florida's agricultural past. We are closed Mondays and Tuesdays and do not have guided tours in the afternoons the remainder of the week. Self Guided tours are always available during operating hours Wednesday through Fridays. Please plan group tours by calling the Dudley Farm phone number and leaving a message with your group name, your phone number, a requested date, and number of people for the tour. Our staff will get back with you soon.
Please be mindful of discarded cigarettes in the park because they may start a structure fire or wildfire. All of our historic wooden structures are susceptible to fire and flame.
Pets are only allowed in the Visitor Center area, not in or around the Farmstead.
Please call the Farm for details on our upcomming events, such as: a Quilt Show and Star Gazing in October, Cane Day in December, Plow Days in February, and the Evening at Dudley in April.
School groups and organizations must make reservations for tours one month in advance. Groups are limited to 40 people. For more information and a Program Reservation Form, please download the Educator Letter and Teacher Packet or call 352-472-1142.

Welcome to Dudley Farm Historic State Park
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this park demonstrates the evolution of Florida farming from the 1850s to the mid-1940s-through three generations of the Dudley family. An authentic working farm, the homestead consists of eighteen buildings, including the family farmhouse with original furnishings, an 1880s kitchen outbuilding, a general store and post office, and a functional cane syrup complex. Park staff in period clothing perform daily chores, raising crops, and tending to livestock. The farm features seasonal cane grindings, corn shuckings, and heritage varieties of livestock and plants. Deer, wild turkeys, gopher tortoises, and bluebirds are still seen in the fields. The park has a visitor center, picnic area, and nature trail. Self-guided tours are available Wednesday through Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Group tours can be reserved one month in advance. Smoking and pets are not allowed at the farmstead. Located seven miles west of I-75 on State Road 26 between Newberry and Gainesville.
