A DAY IN FLORIDA HISTORY OF DELEON SPRINGS
Date: Saturday, August 1, 2009 9:00, a.m.- 4:00 p.m.
Description: Highlighting this exciting day is a re-enactment of a skirmish between soldiers' and settlers of the early 1800's and Seminole Indians, complete with actual weapons of the period. Also, explore an authentic Indian village and soldier's encampment, examine Indian artifacts, old rifles and weapons, artisans, and join in the performance of Indian dances. ' The park and The Friends of DeLeon Springs' goal is to provide access to the event for people of all abilities. If you have any special needs, please contact park staff at 386-985-4212 before you arrival. Accessible parking will be provided throughout the park.
Fees: Donation to the CSO will be accepted.

CHILDREN'S CANE POLE FISHING TOURNAMENT
Date: Saturday, October 3, 2009 9:00 a.m - 12:00 p.m.
Description: Children 15 and under test their angling skills with the tried and true cane pole. All children must have a parent or adult with them to register. Trophies will be awarded in three different age groups for the largest, the smallest and the most fish caught. Everyone will win something. Bait is provided by the Friends of DeLeon Springs . Come join the fun! The park and The Friends of DeLeon Springs' goal is to provide access to the event for people of all abilities. PIONEER FIBER ARTS GUILD
Date: Saturday, October 17, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Description: Members of the guild demonstrate how it was made in the old days…… spinning, weaving, and quilting. Many beautiful fiber items of yesterday are recreated using authentic period methods, tools and materials. The park and Friends of DeLeon Springs' goal is to provide access to the event for people of all abilities. DELEON SPRINGS CLEAN-UP
Date: Saturday, October 24, 2009 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Description: Come out and plan to clean up the community and springshed of DeLeon Springs. Meet at the entrance to DeLeon Springs State Park DeLeon Springs. Participants will be assigned an area to pick up trash in the DeLeon Springs area. After the clean up, participants will be provided free admission to DeLeon springs state park . Participants are encouraged to wear sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, work gloves, and comfortable clothing. CIVIL WAR ENCAMPMENT
Date: January 12 - 13, 2010, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Description: Union troops raided the spring in 1864. see a typical encampment of the period, how the soldiers drilled,slept prepared their meals, etc.walk the trails once patrolled by union soldiers.
