Large windows brighten the nineteen twenties Whitman House kitchen. A couple of iron skillets hang on the white wooden walls above a mint green kerosene stove. A cupboard in the corner reveals canned vegetables and a handmade wooden bowl rests on a small table.
Stately sabal palms are gathered around the large windows of the museum. This block shaped building is constructed of tan brick with aluminum window and door frames.
A rustic wooden sign greets you along the red brick walk leading to the Whitman House. This eighteen nineties house has a tin roof, red wooden shingles on the exterior walls. Rocking chairs welcome you as you come up the steps onto the wide airy porch.
Warm golden tones of pine line the lower walls and flooring of the Whitman House Parlor. An upright piano with sheet music on its bench is accompanied by an acoustic guitar leaning against the wall.
