• We are extremely thankful for the outstanding service the children at Creative Adventure Camp received during their field trip to Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park on Friday, June 15th, 2006. Creative Adventure Camp is a camp for children with special needs. We offer the children a multitude of adventures, however their favorite is the beach. Mr. Gustavo Mecklenburg was very courteous and professional when handling our requests for the special sand wheelchairs, he made sure they were in perfect working conditions. We were in contact with Mr. Mecklenburg several times before, during and after the field trip and he was very helpful and considerate towards all our requests. • In March 2008, my husband and I traveled to Florida. Upon arrival to Ft. Lauderdale, we decided to drive to Key Biscayne for a visit to the Bill Baggs State Park. It was a most delightful day and we had hoped to tour the park and the lighthouse. Unfortunately, the lighthouse facility was closed at that time. Much to our delight and distinct pleasure, we happened to meet a most incredible park ranger and a true gentleman, by the name of Mr. Robert Stoney. He proceeded to open the lighthouse and quarters and gave us a private tour that we thoroughly enjoyed and will always treasure the memories. Mr. Stoney clearly loves his field and was willing to share his knowledge and expertise with us. Words cannot express how much we enjoyed being with him. After climbing the stairs and taking in the breathtaking views, we were sorry that we had forgotten our camera. Mr. Stoney proceeded to take several photographs of us and assured us that he would mail them to our home. After an extensive visit with Mr. Stoney, we left the park having captured a little bit of "heaven" thanks to this wonderful gentleman. Upon our return to our home, we received an "album" of photos that Mr. Stoney had taken with a lovely note thanking us for the visit. We feel such gratitude and would like for you to know that you are indeed very fortunate to have such a wonderful park ranger working in your organization. • Perhaps it's the cold Chicago weather that made me think of the amazing time I had in Key Biscayne. In January of 2006, my boyfriend and I somehow found ourselves in Key Biscayne and decided to venture into Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park and it was THE best beach we have ever been to. When we arrived, it was raining and almost no one was in the park due to it being the off season. After the rain let up, we went for a swim and we couldn't believe how calm and clean the water was. We saw two large beautiful stingrays and collected plenty of seashells. We really enjoyed the beach not only because it was beautiful, but also because it was not crowded at all.
