Charlene Santangelo - Port Richey, FL - As a teenager I spent many countless weekends on the boat with my parents on Caladesi Island. Walking for hours collecting shells, going hiking on all the trails. The facilities on the island were always nice. We would have bbq's under the pavilions. I have since gone back to visit the island with my son and husband to share with them the beauty of it all. Caladesi Island is truly a remarkable memorable place.
Tracy Nicholas - Ft Walton Beach , FL - We had a great time last October! Our most favorite place to go while in Florida. Can't wait to take my new grandson next year! What a beautiful place!
Steve Hall - Terre Haute, Indiana - I remember going to Caledesi as a youngster, now we are taking our children there and they love it. We were there in March, and headed back this weekend, and then for Memorial Day weekend, and hopefully many more times in the future. What a great, peaceful place.
Warren Deets - Hudson, Florida - A little slice of paradise! We enjoyed every minute and will return again. My children and I loved exploring for shells and the swimming in the wonderfully warm water. What a perfect day!
Michelle Toon - Olathe, Kansas - I just took my girlfriend to Caladesi Island for our 3 month anniversary...we both really loved the place...the beach is beautiful and so uncrowded, which is what I love about it most...I really enjoyed the nature trail, but it depends on what kind of nature your looking for...we walked for about fifteen minutes and saw a rabbit and a snake (which is what i was looking for :-) )...but anyways...all in all a great place...on tip would be to go early because the last ferry heads back to honeymoon island at 5pm...and for dinner you should go to Joe's Crab Shack in Clearwater because it is amazing food for a great price...
Brian Dorry - Spring Hill, Florida - We drove almost 2 hours in anticipation of reaching the most beautiful beach we had ever seen in our entire lives. We were not disapointed. The ferry ride,(the tickets are cash only), was amazing. The captain stopped to show us dolphins swimming in St. Joseph's Sound. We arrived on the Island and after a short walk past the restaurant, we were in awe at the beautiful scenery, powder like sand, clear water, and clean beach. I definitely recommend this beach to anyone wanting to get away, and who wants to feel like they are on a 5 star private island. 9/8/07
Ana Villalona - Winter Haven, FL - I came with my summercamp group from the tampa aquarium. the shells were better than at sanibel island. i found FIGHTING CONCHS and my grandmother says she hasn't seen them since at pass-a-grille (st.pete) when she was a kid in the 50's and 60's. Also lots of GIANT COCKLES too. GREAT SHELLING
skye shepherd - st.pete, fl - My family moved down to Tarpon Springs in the 80's (minus me) While visiting them my cousin took me out to Caladesi Island and I fell in love with it. Many years later I took 2 of my daughters to visit " my special island". While on the ferry out, we were entertained by a wonderful captain that explained the story of Myrtle Scharrer Betz and the island. Bought the book as soon as possible, I recommend it to anyone whose visited the island. Went back again this past October and cant wait to go again ! It truly is a paradise. Thank you Henry Scharrer....
