OUTDOOR CLASSROM PROJECT - ECO DAY
Saturday, August 9, 16, 23, and 30 from 11:00 a.m. – till 1:00 p.m. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Big Lagoon State Park will present its “Big Lagoon Outdoor Classroom Project – Eco Day” on Saturday August 9, 16, 23, and 30 from 11:00 a.m. – till 1:00 p.m. Participants will use seine nets to catch and learn about the marine species that make the local estuary and sea grass flats environments unique. In addition, guests will explore shells on the beach and take a guided walk though the slash pine ecosystem. Come prepared, this is a hands-on program and YOU WILL GET WET. Please bring a sack lunch and plenty of water. Reservations are required; call (850) 492-1595 to ensure your participation. Programs are included in the park admission fees of $4 for vehicles (up to eight individuals) and $1 for pedestrians and cyclists. The program will take place at Big Lagoon State Park and registration is required.
