CIGAR HERITAGE FESTIVAL AT THE YBOR CITY
Date: November 21, 2009 - 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Description: Come join the fun and ambiance of Ybor City for a day of activities celebrating the rich cigar heritage that once made Tampa the 'Cigar Capital of the World.' Centennial Park, located directly in front of the museum, will host a variety of vendors, authentic food, cigar rolling, live music & entertainment throughout the day including Cigar Dave broadcast, game zone featuring NCAA football & more. Proceeds and donations from the event benefit the Ybor City Museum Society. See master cigar makers Wallace and Margarita Reyes attempt to break the record for 'World's Longest Cigar.'
Visit the museum to experience a glimpse into the lives of the immigrants who settled, lived in, and built the thriving community of Ybor City. Visit “La Casita” and travel back in time to see how workers lived in 1895.
The museum garden will offer children’s activities and light refreshments.
Fees: Museum Fees: Ages 6 and up $4.00/each. Ages 5 and under Free! Admission includes tours of “La Casita”, a restored 1895 Cigar Worker’s home.

SANTAFEST AT THE YBOR CITY MUSEUM STATE PARK
Date: December 05, 2009 - 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Description: Ring in the holiday season by visiting the Ybor City Museum State Park for Santa Fest 2009. Although many activities will be ongoing throughout the district, the museum garden will be hosting Santa himself, live music and games. Sponsored by the City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department, this community event includes $0.25 street car rides, giant snow slide, Tampa Bay Rays batting cage, and much more. Bring the whole family for an entire day of activities. The festival will conclude with a holiday parade.

Museum Fees: Ages 6 and up $4.00/each. Ages 5 and under Free! Admission includes tours of “La Casita”, a restored 1895 Cigar Worker’s home.

MUSEUM
Open year-round with the exception of major holidays
Explore the history and founding of Ybor City at the Museum, housed in the historic Ferlita Bakery. Learn about Tampa's cigar industry once known as "the cigar capital of the world" as well as the cultures and lifestyles of the early founders. The Ferlita Bakery, established in 1923, was a major source of the community's daily bread. NO PETS.

LA CASITA TOURS
Year-round with the exception of major holidays
Docents lead guided tours through La Casita, a cigar maker's house. The house is an excellent example of the "shot-gun" houses in which many cigar makers lived and reflects the family life in the early part of the 20th century. NO PETS.

WALKING TOURS OF YBOR CITY
Saturdays 10:30 AM
Fee: $8.00/person, which includes the cost of admission to the museum. Walking tours of Ybor City, weather permitting, start at the Ybor City Museum every Saturday. Only one tour is offered each Saturday; limited to 20 people. NO PETS.
