FEE-FREE DAYS FOR 2012

To celebrate special occasions, entry into Florida's state parks will be FEE-FREE on the following day in 2012.

• Sunday, November 11 – Veterans Day – Free for all*

*Excludes the Skyway Fishing Pier State Park.

HELP OUR STATE PARKS (HOSP)

Do you want to support Florida’s state parks with a financial gift? Donations may be given to the Florida Park Service through the Help Our State Parks (HOSP) program. You may donate to a specific park. Donation boxes can be found in some state parks or you may mail your donation to Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Recreation and Parks, 3900 Commonwealth Blvd., MS 540, Tallahassee, FL 32399.

EDUCATIONAL FIELD TRIPS

Teachers and students frequently use state parks as outdoor classrooms. Florida school groups can visit a state park without paying the day-use entry fee. Just ask your school principal, professor or other appropriate official to write a letter stating that the park visit is related to a specific school curriculum and is for educational purposes. School groups can be private or public, and may include home schools, vocational schools, colleges and universities. Organized groups composed primarily of children (younger than 18) must have one adult chaperone for every ten children or fraction thereof.

DISCOUNTS ON ANNUAL ENTRANCE PASSES FOR VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES

Effective July 1, 2010, Florida's state parks will offer special deals on Annual Entrance Passes to those who currently serve or have served in the United States military branches, veterans with service related disabilities and surviving spouses of members of the US military who have fallen in combat. YOUTH GROUPS, CAMPING AND VOLUNTEER PROJECTS

Organized youth groups, such as Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, frequently camp in state park youth camping areas. Many state parks offer these types of primitive facilities and amenities vary by location. Use of these facilities is popular. Advance reservations can be made by calling or visiting the park office. On occasion, youths may trade volunteer services at the park instead of paying camping fees. Contact the Park Manager to make arrangements at the time of the reservation. Youths must be chaperoned by adults, up to 10 youths for each adult.
