Nutrien

Volunteer of Year Award for Corporate

For the past 20 years, employees of the local phosphate mine have supported Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park and the Stephen Foster Citizens Support Organization in a vast number of their endeavors. The company has held a number of names, Oxidental, PCS and now Nutrien.

The local White Springs Nutrien facility and team members sponsor park events such as the Florida Folk Festival and the Festival of Lights. They also support restoration projects at the park, like the one for the museum and tower.

Nutrien has donated $35,000 to the carillon bell restoration (2019-20) and close to $20,000 in event sponsorships (2019-20). Because of Nutrien’s support, park visitors will once again experience the beautiful sounds of the carillon, the world’s largest set of Deagan tubular bells.

Employees of the mine volunteer at the park and help with events. Nutrien team members assist park staff with setup and decoration during the Festival of Lights. Their team decorates the main festival entrance, handcrafting holiday flairs like sugar plums and lollipops. The company provides lighting for the park’s north entrance to greet festival-goers, a man lift for decorating tree branches and generators to provide lighting for all of the park drive.

As the world’s largest provider of crop inputs, services and solutions, Nutrien plays a role in feeding the future by helping growers increase food production in a sustainable manner.
