Jasmin Linkutis considers herself a Floridian and chose to work for the Florida Park Service because of her passion for promoting healthy environments.

Jasmin calls DeLand home and spent her formative years building forts, climbing trees, and enjoying time out in nature. Jasmin has always been surrounded by the outdoors and finds peace in its serenity.

Jasmin particularly enjoys the floodplain forests of Hontoon Island, as well as watching wildlife in the early morning with a pair of binoculars.

As a park ranger, one of Jasmin’s favorite parts about her job is interpreting Florida’s natural and cultural resources to children. She enjoys seeing the curiosities of the natural world light up their eyes.

When asked what she likes most about the outdoors, Jasmin replied, “quietly observing miniscule details on plants, and feeling the wind whipping across the river ahead of a summer storm.

The expansive atmosphere is comforting in its solitude, and the interconnectedness of lifeforms never fails to enrapture me.”

Hontoon Island State Park is thankful to have a park ranger as enthusiastic and dedicated to Florida’s resources as Jasmin.
