The biggest Florida State Park event of the year is fast approaching! The 67th annual Florida Folk Festival takes place on Memorial Day weekend, May 24-26, 2019, on the banks of the Suwannee River at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park.

The festival is a three-day celebration of the music, dance, stories, crafts and food that make Florida unique. From Irish fiddle tunes and techno contra dancing to the wide varieties of music brought by immigrants, the state’s cultural heritage reflects the lives of generations of Florida families and communities. There will be performances by Florida's greatest folk and roots artists, as well as blues, gospel, country, Latin, jazz, bluegrass, Caribbean and zydeco music.

Each year, the Florida Department of State's Florida Folklife Program highlights different areas and cultures of Florida. The artists and tradition-bearers at the Folklife Area this year represent Florida's cultural diversity, the effects of immigration, migration and diaspora on culture, and the many ways that newcomers enrich the state today.
