Description

Park provides the public the opportunity to learn about nesting sea turtles and see the process she goes through first hand. Program begins with a 20 minute DVD presentation called, Sea Turtles - Saga or Eulogy that is followed up with a question and answer session. When finished everyone takes walk along the shore line to see if we can find a sea turtle. While the program is being shown, there are volunteer spotters on the beach looking for signs of turtle activity. If they find any, they relay the information on to the program leader. If it is a good sighting, everyone travels to the location to watch the process. There are also display items brought to the program and include: turtle shells, specimens of baby turtles, turtle skulls, posters, and various handouts about turtles.
