Park Service Specialist, Eduardo Alaniz

Lake Manatee State Park

Eduardo Alaniz was born in Texas but grew up in Florida. He has always had a love of the outdoors and enjoys just being in nature. As a child he has fond memories of playing in local parks and preserves. This is where his love of the outdoors began, which eventually led him to wanting to work in a state park. What Eduardo loves most about the outdoors is the discovery that takes place. Finding a rare flower or animal track that could have been overlooked is incredibly rewarding to him.

As the park service specialist at Lake Manatee State Park, Eduardo wear many hats. His job includes managing volunteers, resource management, mentoring, interpreting to guests and coordinating events. He’s a hard person to catch but it’s only because he is always running around making sure that park operations are running smoothly.

His favorite aspect of his position is that there is never a dull day. From field work to interacting with visitors, each day is diverse and exciting.

Eduardo truly loves his job and that feeling alone is what keeps him coming back every day. His goal as park service specialist is to simply keep doing the work of protecting and preserving Lake Manatee for visitors to enjoy.
