Monte Evans and Rosie Fais  

Volunteer Team of Two of the Year Award for Maintenance  

Monte Evans and Rose Fais have been volunteering for eight years, and combined, they have contributed more than 8,500 volunteer hours.

Over their years of service, they have helped at multiple state parks, including Little Manatee River, Lake Manatee, Wingate Creek, Werner-Boyce Salt Springs and Mike Roess Gold Head Branch.

Monte is skilled in small engine repairs and other mechanical repairs of tractors and all-terrain vehicles. Rose helps with a variety of tasks, including assisting Monte, splitting firewood, toll collecting, or being the park historian by taking pictures to capture the changes and progress in the park.

Monte and Rose have been instrumental in keeping equipment running while also splitting firewood that is sold to campers.

Congratulations to Monte and Rose on this award. They work well with staff and other volunteers. Their support is appreciated.
