San Marcos de Apalache Historic State Park interprets thousands of years of rich Florida history. The museum features a short film explaining the significance of the site and houses artifacts of historic value. There’s even a cannon on display, representing past military fortifications.

The park features a short, self-guided nature trail where you can see the remains of numerous occupations. Shaded picnic tables and benches provide a great place to stop and have lunch or just enjoy the scenery. Tucker Point, located along the hiking trail, is a great place to test your land-based saltwater fishing skills.

There’s truly something for everyone and a great place to spend the day learning about Florida’s history.

If you have questions about the park, wish to reserve a pavilion or inquire about our numerous volunteer opportunities, please call the Tallahassee-St. Marks administration office at 850-487-7989.

I look forward to seeing you in the park!
