While this park may not look very large on the map, both the park and the Peace River are surrounded by extensive conservation easements. These areas of private land have been permanently set aside for conservation, making the park a part of a much larger natural area.
A visit to this park will take you back to the era of the Seminole Wars, and a time when rivers were the main transportation routes into the remote interior of the state.
