What is your favorite part of this greenway or trail?
I love this park not only for the 320 miles of trail options it has for hikers, bikers and equestrians... but its sheer size and history.
What does a visitor need to know before they can explore this trail?
I always encourage them to visit "The Island" behind the Sheriff sub-station off of U.S. 441 and 80th Street, here in Ocala. They get to take a short hike through our park’s history before they set out on an adventure on the trails. I highly recommend looking over some maps of the area they plan on visiting. We can send them a link, snail mail the maps or they can pick them up at a gatehouse. Pack plenty of water, bug spray, sunscreen, hat, tell people where you’re going, bring a camera and know I would like to have them as a volunteer ;) .
